Lighting Up the Path

The City of Wilson, North Carolina was once the center of tobacco cultivation. Since then, it has expanded its interests, now enjoying a diverse economy based on agriculture, manufacturing, and commercial and service businesses. Similar to the diverse economy, the City of Wilson's residents enjoy a diverse array of activities. Whether it be visiting the Wilson Botanical Gardens or exploring the extensive variety of restaurants, Wilson, North Carolina has a number of activities to do to pass the time.

Interestingly, Wilson is home to a catalogue of outdoor adventures. Although one may find the beauty of the Wilson Rose Gardens alluring, one of the most popular attractions is Lake Wilson. Home to popular activities like fishing, boating, and kayaking, a more low-key pastime is simply walking around the lake itself. Boasting a scenic pathway, Lake Wilson's trail is sure to impress, especially considering the potential of interesting activities that occur on the lake. The people watching possibilities are near endless! Whether it be with family or friends, a stroll with a view is incredibly hard to beat.

However, the issue with trails is that after a certain time, the once inviting pathway becomes an ominous warning. All trails suffer from this, even those with beautiful views, but a good way around this ill fate is to simply illuminate the trail. Seeking to extend the joy a walk can bring, the City of Wilson is seeking proposals from qualified vendors to install trail lighting around Lake Wilson. By lighting up the trail, the city emphasizes the safety of visitors and in doing so helps provide them with a secure environment, especially during the upcoming seasons with less daylight. Installing these lights promotes the continued activity of the outdoors, emphasizing the City's dedication to a healthy lifestyle and mental well-being.
