The words we use in daily life have an impact on everything we do. Variations in "soda" versus "pop" can make apparent where someone is from, just like on a broader sense differences in language make it easier to decipher someone's nationality or ethnicity. Unsurprisingly, the variations in language are also important to note in the business world as well, with certain dictions not being regarded as highly as other word choices. To ensure success, it is important to know the audience, but in the business world, professionalism is key. The Office of Acquisition and Grants Management (OAGM) knows this, and will be holding a virtual, two hour discussion on the impact of language on company's decisions on bidding, pricing, teaming, and solution development. The session will also discuss challenges and consequences of certain types of language in terms of both cost and quality of the solution from contractors, and more broadly, perspectives on multi-step evaluations, conflict of interest, small business policies, and more.
The Office of Acquisition and Grants Management is working in collaboration with the National Contract Management Association and the Professional Services Council to provide the discussion on July 31, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM ET.
