Summer is coming up, and with it the rising temperatures that make us yearn for the fall. To escape the stifling heat, a number of actions could be taken, but none cool with the intensity needed like a pool does. Think about it. Five minutes outside can leave someone drenched in a layer of warm and salty sweat, with clothes that were just put on clinging to your body like white on rice. Nothing other than a shower can make you feel clean, but dunking your body in a cool body of chlorine water can bring some much needed relief. Relief, as satisfying as it is, is not what makes the pool such a popular summer spot.
The convenience of a pool, whether it be a neighbor's community center, or neighborhood, helps make them a summer staple. You have nothing else to do? Go to the pool. It is hot outside and ice cream isn't doing the trick? Time for a dip in the pool. It is an easy escape from the omnipotence of the summer sun, and one that is made even more alluring with the presence of friends or family. Pool time with loved ones paves the way for a solid summer memory, one filled with splashes, cheers, and the unfortunate heavy eyes that follow from treading water for too long. Besides, who doesn't love a good water gun fight in sweltering heat?
However, summer activities drain energy like nothing else. The constant running and pushing through water exerts a lot of energy, and if you are running around pumping water guns at each other you are bound to be exhausted within an hour. A nap after cooling off can do wonders, but nothing recharges the batteries like food or drink. Whether it be a juicy hotdog and some Gatorade or simply a bag of chip, sustenance is key. Food is fuel, and in the summer fuel just means longer fun in the sun. Of course, people ordinarily bring their own food and drink, but in the situations that they do not concession stands play a day saving role. Offering a variety of food and drink, they are more than capable or providing refreshments for any sort of need. Even if you are handy enough to bring your own food and drink, the allure stemming from the pure variety concessions have, including the different flavors of Gatorade or Powerade on hand are tempting enough to bring out that wallet. Beyond the flavors, these drinks are always cold. When bringing food and drink from home, the risk is always going to be if they can stay cold enough to enjoy it fully, and with how hot summers get it is often a risk that never quite pays off. Concessions, on the other hand, offer a variety of drinks that promise to be chilled to the point that you can wipe the frosted condensation off the bottle.
